"The people that give you their food,
give you their heart."

About
We’ve prepared and cooked thousands of warm meals for our community members .
Hearts To End Hunger is a 501c3 Non-Profit, based in the Chequamegon Bay area of northern Wisconsin.
Founder and Program Director, Sage Chavez, hails from the Southwest, which is why our specialty is in serving hearty and healthy dishes inspired by the region, such as tamales, frybread tacos, succotash, hush puppies!
What we do
At Hearts To End Hunger, we create projects to feed all of those in need of a warm and healthy meal.
One such program we run is a mobile pop-up kitchen that serves Southwest inspired dishes. Each event caters to a different location in the Chequamegon Bay area to reduce hunger for those in the five local communities who face food insecurity.
All our projects, are fully funded by the generous donations of our supporters.
Awareness Events
5K charity runs have become a cornerstone of overall fund raising efforts. It’s easy to see why as this was a very popular event. This 5K was beneficial to raise awareness of food insecurity. The participants were wonderful and appreciative of our food after the run!
This family-friendly event was truly eye-opening for all. The Awareness of Homelessness and Hunger lives on in the memories of participants after their sleepout and chili feed experience.
We’ve organized a Thanksgiving meal twice now, and will continue this very meaningful tradition. It’s so uplifting to provide a warm meal to a disadvantaged member of our community on this particular day of the year, and be reminded of the roots of our community and culture.
Tacos have long been part of our culture, and much loved by many. The unpretentious taco is an easy and versatile meal offering the food groups for a healthy diet, and so much fun for our volunteers to build too!
Book Across the Bay is an annual event many locals and tourists from all over look forward to. There’s no better feeling than warm and tasty tamales and sopa (soup) after an evening of skiing and snowshoeing on a frozen Lake Superior!
We were delighted and excited to be a part of the Hunger Awareness Fundraiser, which featured a raffle draw to raise funds for our underprivileged community members.
